This NSW MUN would be special because it is the first Online NSW MUN to be held.
The Online MUN will be held on Discord on May 7-8, 2020. Whether you are an experienced delegate or just a newbie, orginisers invites you to attend our Online Training on May 6, 2020, where you will obtain detailed instructions for the use of the Discord platform.
🏢There will be four committees:
✔️General Assembly – 75 years of the United Nations (English)
📋Topic: United Nations peacekeeping and peacebuilding. Importance of global ceasefire for humanitarian aid delivery and migration. (SDG 16/17)
✔️World Health Organization (English)
📋Topic: The COVID–19 pandemic and “infodemic”. (SDG 3/11/17)
✔️UNESCO (Russian)
📋Topic: Youth and online access to education during the pandemic. (SDG 4/8/11)
✔️ECOSOC (English)
📋Topic: Socio-economic impact of the COVID–19 pandemic on the SDGs.
The New Silk Way Model UN is held through a diplomatic discussion in the form of role-playing simulation, during which university and high-school students reproduce the work of the United Nations authorities. This discussion platform encourages the development of communication skills, discussion of complex international issues, the search and development of compromises, which is necessary for every citizen of modern society.
