Ударник британской рок-группы Yes Алан Уайт умер на 73-м году жизни.

Сообщение об этом было размещено в четверг на официальной странице коллектива в Twitter.

"Yes вынуждены c глубокой скорбью объявить о том, что Алан Уайт, наш барабанщик, пользовавшийся всеобщей любовью и с которым нас связывала 50-летняя дружба, скончался в возрасте 72 лет после непродолжительной болезни", - говорится в сообщении.

Члены семьи Уайта сообщают, что музыкант умер в четверг у себя дома в окрестностях Сиэтла (штат Вашингтон).

Группа Yes по сей день остаётся одним из флагманов прог-рока. Благодаря таким хитам, как "Roundabout", "Wondering Stories", "Owner Of A Lonely Heart" и альбомам "Fragile", "Close To The Edge", "Relayer", "90125" – они навсегда вписали свое имя в мировую сокровищницу рок-н-ролла.

Уайт присоединился к коллективу в 1972 году, до этого успев поработать с Джоном Ленноном и Джорджем Харрисоном. Вместе с гитаристом Стивом Хоу до вчерашнего дня Алан оставался старейшим участником Yes.

Drummer Alan White of the British rock band Yes died at the age of 73.

The announcement was made Thursday on the group's official Twitter page.

"Yes is deeply saddened to announce that Alan White, our beloved drummer and friend of 50 years, has passed away at the age of 72 after a brief illness," the statement reads.

White's family says the musician died Thursday at his home near Seattle, Washington.

The band Yes remains one of prog-rock's flagships to this day. With hits like "Roundabout," "Wondering Stories," "Owner Of A Lonely Heart" and albums like "Fragile," "Close To The Edge," "Relayer," and "90125," they have forever inscribed their name in the world treasury of rock and roll.

White joined the band in 1972, having previously worked with John Lennon and George Harrison. Along with guitarist Steve Howe, Alan remained the oldest member of Yes until yesterday.

В последние 50 лет Билл Бруфорд (Bill Bruford) является одним из самых оригинальных и инновационных барабанщиков в целом ряде жанров. В бокс-сете “Making A Song And Dance: A Complete Career Collection” собраны многие из великих достижений Бруфорда за его невероятную карьеру. Эта компиляция из шести CD увидит свет 29 апреля на лейбле BMG.

“Меня интересовало более широкое применение барабанов и игры на них, а не успех или слава, - говорит Бруфорд. – Я хотел звучать не так, как мои современники вроде Карла Палмера или Джона Бонэма. The ex-drummer of Yes and King Crimson releases a box set.

Over the past 50 years Bill Bruford has been one of the most original and innovative drummers in a wide range of genres. The Making A Song And Dance: A Complete Career Collection box set compiles many of Bruford's great accomplishments during his incredible career. This six-CD compilation will see the light of day on April 29 on the BMG label.

"I was interested in the broader use of drums and drumming, not in success or fame," Bruford says. - I wanted to sound different than my contemporaries like Carl Palmer or John Bonham. I figured if I hadn't heard something before, my bandmates probably hadn't either. Coming up with interesting drum kit tricks was my raison d'être."

In addition to "Yes" and "Crimson," the edition contains works with legendary guitarists Al Di Meola, Steve Howe, Kazumi Watanabe and more. The box set also includes a detailed biography by Bruford himself, illustrated with rare photographs.
